Hi, i would like to request some help with a persistant BSOD. This is a new installation of Win 7 Pro 64bit, it is dual booting alongside XP 32bit that runs without issue so i believe the hardware to be OK. The machine has contantly blue screen since installation even after a clean installation. It has been loaded onto a Packard Bell with a BV CUBA ms-7301 motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300@1.86, no alterations have been made to the best of my knowledge. It appears to blue screen primarily when using windows mail 2011, sometimes in close proximity to a wake from sleep. I attached the logs as requested.

BIOS dates from 2006 - I'd suggest updating it.  But be very, very careful as making a mistake while updating the BIOS can physically damage the system.

If there is an in-Windows way to update the BIOS please use that as it is much safer than booting from a disk in order to flash the BIOS.

Only 210 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have 300 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).  As there are many Windows Update failures in the WER section of MSINFO32, you may want to start a topic in the Windows 7 forum looking for assistance with getting the updates fixed.

Please update your AMD video drivers.  The current drivers date from 2010 and may have an impact on the audio (which is blamed in the memory dumps).

Please update the ViaRhine network adapter - it's driver dates from 2011

There's lot's of network activity.  Please uninstall the BullGuard Internet Security and Argentum firewall software.

Download and install the latest version of this software immediately.
DO NOT install more than one antivirus or one firewall.

As the BSOD's blame the Windows audio driver, I'd wait until you have all Windows Updates in order to see if the BSOD's stop.

If not, then I'd update the Audio drivers for your system to the latest, Win7 compatible version.  If that version is already installed, uninstall it and install a fresh copy (in case of corruption).

Should that not fix things, then please run Driver Verifier according to these directions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Hi and thankyou for your help so far. I have run windows update and i believe i have now got them all including the failed attempts. I dare not update the BIOS but have updated the audio, all the others you mentioned do not appear to have any more recent than the ones i have. The PC worked well for a day or so but then the BSOD started again, i was going to upgrade the bullguard but that appeared to be the latest version? So i have at the moment uninstalled it. I will install avg free in its place and see how i get on. In the meantime here are the latest logs.

One of the latest BSOD's blames NSKernel.sys (a driver component of BullGuard).

Have you uninstalled BullGuard?  If so, do the BSOD's continue?

The other BSOD's continue to blame your HD audio drivers.

If the BSOD's continue, please:

- download a fresh copy of the latest audio drivers for your system

- uninstall the current audio drivers

- install the freshly downloaded drivers

- monitor for further BSOD's

Should the BSOD's continue after this, then please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Good luck!

Hi, after sending the last reply i uninstalled Bullguard and replaced with AVG. And fingers crossed i have not had any BSOD since. I will report on this thread if any in the next week or so, but i am sure if it lasts that long it must have been cured.

May i take this oportunity to thank you and all at Bleeping Computer for your continued help and expertise in helping myself and others in our hour of need. It really is much appreciated.

Kindest Regards Dave
