There's a typical play-by-email game file in my outgoing mail folder that refuses to be deleted along with the rest.

I hit 'Delete' but the message comes up "File no longer in this location".

I run a search to find it but it comes up blank, and I've gone round my system looking behind cupboards and under carpets but it's nowhere to be seen.

Its name is sitting there in my mail folder but it's just an empty ghost..

Any suggestions how I can exorcise it?

Wow, zero replies, that's never happened to me before, maybe my question should have been left in the other thread..;)

I'll just have to leave the ghost file on my computer and hope it doesn't mess me up in some way (sniffle)

MickinPlymouthUK,

I'll try to help out if i can.

If you can give as much information regarding the problem it'll help in figuring out what's going on. If you could answer some of these questions it may shed light on the situation...

1.Is this a web based E-mail client or desktop? Also, which provider (google, yahoo etc.)?

2. What do you mean by "play-by-email game file"? Is this just an E-mail, or is there a file attachment?

3. What options have you tried to remove it?

Very Best,

MM

Thanks but fingers crossed it seems to have gone away!

I use Dropbox and CMHelper via AOL, maybe one of my gaming opponents deleted the same file from his Dropbox so my ghost file went with it because our Dropboxes were linked.

It could still be lurking somewhere on my system but if it ever comes back and starts giving trouble I'll let you know.. :)

Regards,

Daniel.

MickinPlymouthUK,

I'm glad the "ghost file" has dissipated! :)

If it comes back let me know and we'll pick up where we left off.

Very Best,
MM
