i came to this site for help to remove appsaver. i did not sleep at all last night. i have spent hours and hours trying to get rid of this curse on my life.and i eventually was lead here and instructed to download combofix in my effort to remove malware from my puter. NOW i am stuck with YOUR MALWARE on my device. i can not uninstall combofix and after hours of trying and my eyes are burning from staring at the screen i STILL have appsaver. and now im stuck with you malware as well. i am so upset with you guys. i know it might be something i am not noticing due to lack of sleep but i cant help but wonder why you would make something that users can not uninstall. also the only discussion on this matter i see that all of you beat around the bush and never answer the poor guys question. you tell him its the wrong forum and tell him he needs to ask again somewhere else INSTEAD of ANSWERING THE QUESTION. i want your software off of my computer now. and i guess thats what you intended when you made it? you made your own devilish game to play with people? im about to loose my mind i am so angry. first i cant get rid of appsaver. now i cant get rid of your junk.

Hello Darth, since this seems to be your first post here, can you please let us know who instructed you to use Combofix? It is only intended to be used under the instruction of a trained anti-malware operative, so if someone has been giving you instructions, we will need to know what has happened so someone expert in using Combofix can help you.

Hello Darth Plagueis,

I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with Combofix. However I do not see any topic here at BC where you were instructed to run Combofix. In fact, as stated in the official Combofix Guide

You should not run ComboFix unless you are specifically asked to by a helper. Also, due to the power of this tool it is strongly advised that you do not attempt to act upon any of the information displayed by ComboFix without supervision from someone who has been properly trained. If you do so, it may lead to problems with the normal functionality of your computer.

To uninstlal combofix, press Windows key + R, type combofix /uninstall and press enter. or alternatively, rename combofix.exe to uninstall.exe and run it. Either way Combofix will start and give you a success message when done.

However, combofix also makes a restore point before changing anything, so you could just roll back to that.

regards, Elise

thank you. and i am sorry if i came off as rude. im just really tired. i love this site and i thank you guys for what you are doing to help so many people.

i was told about combofix from a friend. she told me about your site while trying to walk me through removing appsaver.  i used malwarebytes and ccleaner and then she suggested using comofix and tdsskiller. after going through the motions i restarted my puter and low and behold the appsaver demon is still on my computer. my next option i think is to find a hot air balloon fly over a volcano and drop my computer into the magma... i think that will kill the appsaver.   i have also made sure all of my windows updates are installed and nothing happens. volcano exorcism seems like my best option.

Volcano exorcism is a wonderful option - but I prefer concrete and the ocean :0)  (just kidding!)

I'd suggest posting over here:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/

I remove malware at work, but I don't have nearly the skills of the folks here - they'll make sure that you are free of the appsaver stuff.

Good luck!

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

We do understand your frustration!

I have no doubt your friend has very good intentions in seeking to help you with your malware problem. But if you'd like one of the malware specialists here to look at it for you, we can transfer this topic to an appropriate forum where suitable tools are allowed to be used, or as usasma says, you could start a separate topic. Since the helpers are volunteers though, I can't promise you would be helped immediately, unless Elise is able to offer further assistance from here.

Hello Darth... Unlike the moderators here I do not have to be as kind in my diplomacy.  I do not understand why you are blaming people on this site for something a friend of yours suggested you do.  I myself have been helped by the volunteers on this site and can tell you that combofix is not any type of malware at all and your suggestion that it is .. is simply absurd.  Since you are ' new around here' As stated above you may want to post in the correct section of the forum to get the help you need.  Do you go to an auto store to pick up groceries? no of course you don't so why would you post in a section of a forum that is not intended for your type of concerns?  I am extremely grateful and thankful that the people on this forum and especially the " AM I INFECTED ? WHAT DO I DO?' section are there to help people FOR FREE!  Try having your pc fixed ANYwhere and it is at least 75.00 an hour... depending on your problem.  This all being said I hope your stay at this forum is helpful to you as it was to me in the past.  You certainly cannot blame the people of this forum for something a friend of YOURS told you to do.

i understand it is not anyones fault. hence the apology. my frustration got the better of me. i agree that the people on this site are like superheros to me. my original post was asking for help with the combofix. i got help with that. then i was given direction to seek help on a seprate forum for the appsaver issue. as you are judging me sir it seems that you as well gave into your frustration with me and commented on something that had nothing to do with you or you computer issues. i had my panicked "dude in distress" moment and the bleeping justice league has come to my rescue. so you'll have to excuse me sir for telling you to have a wonderful day while reminding you that you have voiced your god given frustrated opinion of me and in the same breath tried to shame me for voicing my god given frustrated opinion. cheers to you sir. i do agree with your point. and like i stated before i'm sorry to anyone who got flustered by my rant. i was in a state of frustration and feeling helpless. but besides that.. seriously have a good day man

Darth, unfortunately you read a response before I had opportunity to deal with it, sorry for that.

Since it looks like you are creating a topic in the Am I Infected forum, and help has already been offered, this topic will have served its purpose.
