Most of my games crash after playing them for a little while. I play games like CS:GO, GTA 5, Rust, and other games as well. These games usually crash but at different times and each individual game crashes differently.

I have a GTX 660 Graphics card, Intel Core i7-4770K CPU at 3.50 GHz, and it is a 64-bit Windows 7 Operating System.

Please help.

Let's get a few reports to help sort this out.

First is this one:

Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Next, please provide these reports (even though you're not reporting BSOD's).  They'll contain other info that will help troubleshoot this problem:

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

(23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.

Lot's of errors in the Admin event log.

Have you been monitoring the temps?  If so, what did it show?

Try updating your nVidia video drivers - as a lot of the errors pointed at this.

If this is a laptop, get the drivers from the laptop manufacturer.

If it's a desktop, get the drivers from http://www.nvidia.com

We'll still need these reports also:

I have tried monitoring the temps and the cpu averaged at about 45 and gpu averaged at about 84. I also have the nVidia drivers updated. I might try to do a full reinstall of the graphics drivers just to make sure I have everything installed correctly.

Also, did you want me to post the reports that will help with troubleshooting the problem to a new thread or just in this one?

Post the other reports here.

There's other errors in the Admin event log that may bear looking at - but first let's try removing and then reinstalling a fresh copy of the graphics drivers.

I didn't see any clear cause for the games crashing, but the number of problems with the video driver suggests that it's to blame.

You might want to have a look at this older post (as it's similar to the signs that your graphics driver is exhibiting):   http://www.sysnative.com/forums/bsod-kernel-dump-analysis-debugging-information/35-video-tdr-timeout-0x116-0x117.html#post29532

As you'll see in the article, one of the possibilities is a hardware problem with the graphics card - so please try the graphics/video tests from this link:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

I reinstalled my drivers (hopefully correctly) and I played a couple games but there still seems to be an issue. I may have messed up in the un-installation of the drivers though. I haven't tested my graphics/video yet but I will do that soon.

Why do you think that you may have messed up the driver uninstall?  Were there errors when you removed them?

Let us know the results of the graphics/video tests and we'll move on from there.

Hey, sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been busy with finals and whatnot. I think when I reinstalled the drivers I tried to delete the folders in the program files x86 Some of the files did not delete because it said they were opened already with another program. So I don't think I reinstalled it completely. Since I last replied though, when I'm playing games such as Counterstrike: Global Offensive, the game still does "crash" I guess but it is much shorter and I am able to get back into the game right after it does it.

Also, I don't know if this is a related topic but for over about a year now my computer's time does not update. In fact it goes backwards to a certain time of when I last turned it on or something. I have to manually update it multiple times each day. It messes up pretty much anything on my computer in a chronological sense. So maybe you could also help me fix that in case it is actually related to my other problems in some way. Thanks.

Let's have a look at this report:

  Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Beyond that, try running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Let us know what the results are and we'll see where we can go from there.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." That is what it said and then after that it told me to look under C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. The log file that was opened has a lot of stuff in it. I'm not sure if it is good or bad so I will just attach it here.

Two separate issues but it's possible that they're related:

There's not many experts at fixing Windows Updates or SFC corruptions.
I am not one of them.
But the few experts that there are a sorely overworked - so getting a reply will be difficult.
I'll continue to attempt to help here, but please bear with me.

First, please try the Windows Update troubleshooter/fixes listed here:
Windows Update Troubleshooter:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/windows-update-issues/en-us
Windows Update Troubleshooter KB article:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2714434
Reset Windows Update Components KB article:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058

Then, if that doesn't fix the Windows Update problem, please do the following 2 things. (copied from here:  http://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html ):

Run SFCFix

This free tool of neimiro's creation (see above link) is a very good starting point for the diagnosis and repair of all Windows Update and System File Checker corruptions. We therefore need you to run this tool prior to collecting logfiles.

        -  First download and run a copy of the tool from http://www.sysnative.com/niemiro/apps/SFCFix.exe.
        -  Work through any on-screen prompts and then await completion (runtime is approximately 15 minutes).
        -  Once it has finished, if there are any unrepaired corruptions (the tool will notify you if it has succeeded in repairing all corruptions if they're simple in which case we're no longer needed) or unresolved problems with your computer, you need to post us the complete logfile which opens on exit. Simply copy (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the entire logfile into your new thread (also know as a 'topic'). How to create a new thread is shown later on in this post.

FYI - I suspect that the corruptions are related to a problem with SFC.EXE that hasn't been fixed by Microsoft yet.

Here's a link to a post that explains it:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/579014/sfc-files-corrupt/?p=3730896

I also noted a bunch of Bonjour errors and nVidia video driver errors.

Please download a fresh copy of each.

Then uninstall them, reboot, and install the fresh copies.

Ok so for the first link you sent me, the troubleshooting found "Service registration is missing or corrupt" and was fixed as well as "Problems installing recent updates" was fixed. So I will update you later as to whether the problem was fixed or not because it usually takes some time for me to tell if the time is current or not. Since it looks like it fixed it I will wait to try anything else until I see that it did not work. What is Bonjour and where do I download a new copy of that? And also for my nVidia drivers, do you want me to do a complete reinstall like last time or something different?
