I have a computer running Windows 8.1 that is on a network with a Ricoh MP C3003.  The driver is a native Windows 8.1 (PCL 6) driver, and connectivity is good (I can access the web administration at will).

When a job (even a test page) is sent to the printer, it shows in the spooler, and disappears like it was processed (no error), but the printer does nothing.

*The connection is TCP (IP v4)

*There is another Windows 8.1 computer that prints with no problem (using the native Windows 8.1 print driver for this printer).

*I have tried complete removal and reinstallation of the driver

*I have tried using the PCL 5 version of the driver as well as the latest PCL 6 (downloaded from Ricoh)

Has anyone else experienced and fixed this?

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

The first step would be to see if you can print to the printer if it's connected locally.

If so, then it'd be a networking problem.

II'm not real good with these problems, but wonder if this Ricoh universal driver would help you out:  http://www.ricoh-usa.com/services_and_solutions/universalprintdriver/universal_print_driver.aspx

I didn't have time to try the universal driver (seemed to be PostScript). I will try it just to establish printing.  They do print forms, but I don't think the programs are finicky about needing PCL to do them.

As for direct connection, this machine (printer) doesn't have USB.  It's a large MFP device, so moving it is difficult.

The goofy part here is the computer in the next room is on the exact same build of Windows 8.1, and prints fine with the PCL6 driver (that comes in Windows 8.1).  In talkiing to them, supposedly it worked (on the machine in question) when the printer people first delivered it.

In the XP days I'd ask you to be sure that NetBIOS was enabled - but I'm uncertain how it works in 8.

I'm pretty sure it's a network setting that you need to change - just don't know which one (and I suspect that the universal driver will do that for you).

They have both PCL6 and PostScript versions listed on that page.
