Copy and then paste the log in your topic.

If it is too large you can break it down into smaller sections.

Houston... we got a problem.

The reason I told you to post the log in your topic is because I will not download anything to my computer unless I know exactly what it contains.

You posted the log at a host website and posted a link to the download, you did not post it in your topic.

You quite literally copy the log from your computer, then paste it in your topic.

Thanks, dc3 and The Power,

I ran the fix and it worked (second try).

The event viewer message had me worried somewhat.

Also noticed that a thing called DiagTrack from microsoft had opened a port, so I disabled the diagtracking in services, and all seems well again.

The update KB3022345 I have not deleted or hidden (yet) but I'll leave it as is unless something crops up again.

Hello,

This will repair these files, the most likely reason why these specific files are missing is due to running a tool to Clean up disc space? These files will often be removed by tools claiming to free up Disk Space.
But these files shouldn't be removed, they are not boot critical but they are crucial to be on the OS.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  • Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  • Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  • On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  • Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  • SFCFix will now process the script.
  • Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
SFC /SCANNOW
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button. Inside the search box type in CMD
  • Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
  • Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  • Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with the rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button => Inside the search box copy and paste the following command:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • Press Enter
  • Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt, please rename this file to CBS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.txt For example "CBS_Go The Power_1803.txt"
  • Please upload CBS_{Username}_{Date}.txt to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive
