i noticed a while ago that i was having issues with regards to pop ups, random windows opening and after awhile i was completely denied internet access. a malwarebytes scan indicated a dns trojan virus. after many communications with bleeping computers i have regained control but keep having issues where traffic keeps trying to redirect through sdsvr.com then my pop up blockers do their thing which leads to certain webpages freezing up. my previous forum is http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/571379/dns-changer-trojan-virus/.

i have reformatted hard drives and run a number of anti malware programs as you can read in the above forum. cannot afford new gear and start uni in september. please help

See if the problem goes away if you plug you cable into you machine bypassing the router.

in the uk the plugs and socket are different. it is physically impossible to bypass the router and plug in straight to the wall. the cable from wall to router contains a different set of plugs than the ones from router to pc.

Logon to your router and configure it to block that domain name sdsvr.com

I think what OldPhil meant was plug your computer directly into the modem if you do not have a gateway unit (combination modem/router)
