Fiancee just got this nasty thing on her PC. Been working at it for hours and haven't found a fix after researching and trying fix after fix. First off, yes, I did read this post:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/550531/surfvox-browser-hijacker-and-lost-control-of-pc/

The fixes posted by "buddy215" seemed to have worked for some people, but I haven't had such luck. The second I run any anti-malware programs, they close instantly. Here is my RKill log:

Rkill 2.7.0 by Lawrence Abrams (Grinler)
Copyright 2008-2014 BleepingComputer.com
More Information about Rkill can be found at this link:

Program started at: 05/17/2015 01:15:22 AM in x64 mode.
Windows Version: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1

Checking for Windows services to stop:

 * No malware services found to stop.

Checking for processes to terminate:

As you can see, it got to the "Checking for processes to terminate" portion, then the program crashed.

I'm not really sure what to do except reformat the PC, but I'm really trying to stray away from that...

Please help :/

To do this:

  • Hit options.
  • Settings.
  • Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.
