Hi,

I have a Cisco 2100 cable modem connected to the Internet and working fine but do not have the wifi feature in it. I also have a Dlink ADSL modem (DSL-2730 is the model number in case you need to check the specs) which have a wifi feature.

The problem here is I need to connect the cable modem to adsl one to use internet on my Laptop and tablets.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The adsl modem/router is a lot different than a normal router. You might be able to get it working, but a lot times you can't. The reason for that the ports on the back need to have a feature called versalink. To be able to turn one of the LAN ports into an Uplink. Some adsl mode/routers have that feature. The second issue is dealing with Walled Garden. A lot of times you cannot disable it. Your best bet is to buy a wireless router.

Thank you for the reply, I have heard about making this ADSL as an access point to use the Wifi. This is the point which led me here.
