Mod Edit:  Split from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/575721/some-files-cannot-be-repaired/ -- Hamluis.

This update has been a major pain.

For anyone that wants to keep the update, but fix the corrupt files I have written two guides that will repair these corruptions:
Windows 8 update (KB3022345) causing corrupt files
Windows 7 update (KB3022345) causing corrupt files

Go The Power, will the Windows 7 fix be useful for the 32 bit version as well as 64?

Yes please, if you have the CBS logs that would be fantastic :)

Export CBS folder
  • Click the Start button StartButton_16x16.gif then click Computer.
  • Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  • Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  • Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  • Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  • Please rename this file to CBS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.zip For example "CBS_Go The Power_1803.Zip"
  • Attach this to your next post please.
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Go The Power:

I can't attach my WindowsUpdate.txt log here because it  is too large.  All three computers in this house were sideswiped by that Windows Update.

Below is the Sendspace link:

Sendspace WindowsUpdateLog.txt Link

Thank you for your help. All three computers were "repaired" by your SFCFix script.

Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil
