This will repair those files:;
 
SFCFix Script
 
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  • Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  • Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  • On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  • Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  • SFCFix will now process the script.
  • Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
SFC /SCANNOW
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button. Inside the search box type in CMD
  • Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
  • Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  • Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with the rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button => Inside the search box copy and paste the following command:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • Press Enter
  • Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt, please rename this file to CBS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.txt For example "CBS_Go The Power_1803.txt"
  • Please upload CBS_{Username}_{Date}.txt to this thread.
    Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Thanks, SFC has reported a lot of pending transactions to take place, can you please restart your computer then run SFC /SCANNOW again. The transactions should of hopefully process on the reboot.

This one is a little tricky as SFC is not providing the WinSxS component path:

Can you please upload the following:

Can you please go the following location C:\Windows\System32\config and look for the following files:
-COMPONENTS
-Any other files that start with the word COMPONENTS
-Or any files that have a similar name to COMPONENTS (it could be spelt different, have a number, a symbol etc)
If you find any please create a folder on your desktop and copy and paste all these files into this folder.
Next can you please zip this folder -> Please name this zip file to COMPONENTS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.zip For example "COMPONENTS_Go The Power_1803.Zip"
Once done, upload them for me to analyze. The file may be too big to attach to this post, please use either Dropbox or One Drive.
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button. Inside the search box type in CMD
  • Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
  • Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following commands
    dir %systemroot%\System32\config >1&&notepad 1

The information you asked for is posted below.  I certainly appreciate the help.  One other thing happened but I'm not sure would help her not but I could not paste into the command prompt, I had to type what you wanted put there directly into the command prompt.

SFCFix script

  • Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  • Go to your desktop and right click on the background -> Select New -> Text Document -> Name this file SFCFixScript.txt.
  • Open up SFCFixScript.txt and copy all of the following text inside the code box below and paste it into SFCFixScript.txt.
    FileScan::
    conhost.exe.mui
    
  • Click on File -> Save. Close out of SFCFixScript.txt.
  • Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  • On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  • Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  • SFCFix will now process the script.
  • Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post

Its not frustrating, I am actually finding this interesting as I have sent seen SFC detect a missing file like this before :)

When the scan ran this time this time it didn't say anything about being unable to correct corrupt files like it did in the past!  Maybe this time the problem is solved?

Windows update wanted to install several updates today including the one I noted above that it wouldn't install previously.  Everything looked like it installed correctly but afterwards IE started behaving erratically.  I tried reinstalling IE 11 which failed I also tried running Windows update again and it failed to run, giving me the error 80072EFE!  At that time I reran the directions you posted above with the following results:
