laptop no sound

sony vaio laptop there is no sound coming out. I Tried plugging speakers and still nothing. But when using HDMI and connecting it to our television there is no prob. How can this be fixed THANKS ;D

Many times it is the jack for headphones being dirty or damaged.

I'd suggest taking a look at your sound settings in control panel.  Maybe taking a look at device manager to see if the sound card has any issues.
