Somehow I downloaded an document opener that has a Corkscrew as a symbol. How do I get rid of this?

Can you right-click on that icon, select Properties and then copy/paste here the target executable of that shortcut?

In order to uninstall a Windows 8 app, you need to hold its tile, then drag it in the "Uninstall" Recycle bin.
