Greetings honorable computer helpers,

I've just intalled driver (from hp website) for a hp officejet 5610 all in one. I've had to install a couple of other things in order for the driver to download. So it appears I've got what is needed for download. But its not installing, or something. The computer is running winxp pro version 2002. And that's about as good as it gets here. Thanks for the help. KB

Heres one of the things i downloaded..

Have you downloaded and installed all of the windows updates?  You should be on service pack 3 with windows XP.

What happens when you try to install the printer?  Any error messages or the driver cannot find the printer??  More information is needed here.

How do you connect to the printer?  via USB?  You may need to simply power cycle the printer and connect the USB to the printer while the software is looking for the printer.

YeahBleeping,

1. Not sure. How do I check or do that?

2. When I"m in the found new hardware wizard and reach the page to search for the driver it cant find the software. When I browse for it I cant find it either. When I go to browse at the top of the list is desktop, so i'm not sure if only whats on the desktop is coming up. I tried to move the file to desktop but that didnt work for me.

3. Yes, a USB. I've done that and still doesnt work.

Thanks kb

The setup wizard still cannot find the file, even though I can see it is there.
