Making a copy of windows XP

I have a windows xp disk but would like to make a copy in case I misplace one can that be done?

Of course you can do that. You can easily make a copy of the CD/DVD if you need. You can do a full copy, or simply create an .iso from the disc, and then burn it to another CD/DVD, or even make a USB bootable with it. For the CD/DVD option, you can use ImgBurn, it works really well.
