Why the Hell its showing 3.98gb out of 8gb usable!

This is really ticking me off! I am using 8GB of ram and it shows 3.98gb usable yes i do have Windows 7 x64 and its only showing single channel.

If it's only showing as "single channel", maybe your second RAM stick isn't detected? Do you have two sticks of 4GB of RAM each?

It helps...if we know...just "what" is showing the figure quoted.  What is the source of the data?

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download. 
 
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
 
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.

Srry wasn't on last night since im busy yes both sticks are in. I did a RAM test all fine. It also shows 8gb in speccy as a single channel. BUT I HAVE 2 FINE STICKS

Did you try swapping slots? Use the two other channels, instead of the ones they are currently in? Also, is that issue new? Did you simply boot your computer one day and noticed that only 4GB of RAM was detected? And where is it detected like that? In the Task Manager, in the System window?

According to the Speccy snapshot and the motherboard he have, he doesn't have on-board graphics, no.

If the RAM modules are not populated correctly the Speccy will indicate that the modules are not running in dual channel.

 

The following is the proper way to populate the RAM, this is from the ASRock manual.

 

Please install the memory module into the slots DDR3_A2 and DDR3_B2 for the first priority.

Well looks like the RAM sticks weren't in the right channels like suspected. Glad that the issue is solved.
