If this is not the proper place to ask this question, I apologise.

When I was installing InfanView, I was asked -

>do you want to associate extensions with IrfanView (optional)<

There was a long [tick box] list, beginning with ANI Animated Windows Cursors and ending with WMA Windows Media Audio File.

I had three choices - IMAGES ONLY : SELECT ALL : NONE, but I aborted the installation because I did not know what to do.

I would use IrfanView to view and 'mess about with' digital photographs.

What do you advise?

Best wishes. whatapalaver

from what i understand, its just asking you what image files and extensions you would like irfan view to automatically associate itself with, and automatically open. i use irfanview myself, and you can also download more plug-ins for more file extensions. .

i think thats what it means, anyhow  i don't really remember what i did. . . probably left the default boxes checked, or did a select all.

If in doubt click "NONE".
Later you can set associations if you wish.

Even though I use IrfanView, I do not associate with any file types since I have several other applications I also use for different aspects of photo editing.
