Pop ups on my Nexus 5?

For the past month, whenever I open social networking apps and ar random times, Google Play opens up and goes to a screen to download apps. These apps are usually dumb things like Clash of Clans or weird porn apps. I don't know if this is some sort of virus and I would greatly appreciate some assistance.
