Hello, and welcome :)

Please follow the instructions below. If you do not understand anything, feel free to stop and ask.

MiniToolbox by Farbar

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
  • List Minidump Files
  • List Restore Points
Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

===

AdwCleaner by Xplode

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
  • The tool will start to update the database, please wait a bit.
  • Click on I agree button.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • DO NOT CLEAN ANYTHING! Removal will be done after analysis of the log.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Logfile button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
  • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.
Regards,
Alex

Thank you Alex. As I wrote Adw cleaner does not detect anything so the logfile is empty. I can send you the Hijack this log file if it helps.

Tksa lot

Hi there,

Please do not post HijackThis logfiles in this area - those are strictly for the Malware Removal Logs area, and even then HijackThis is outdated and should not be used any longer.

Meanwhile please post the MiniToolbox log when it is finished and I will proceed with the instructions.

Thank you.

Regards,
Alex

Do you play WildTangent games?

Please uninstall the following applications with Programs and Features:

Since AdwCleaner didn't find anything... let's try something else.

Junkware Removal Tool

thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
  • Disable all your antivirus and antimalware software - see how to do that here.
  • Right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
  • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from here.

Double click on the file mbam-setup-2.x.x.xxxx.exe to install the application. (x.x.xxxx is the version)
  • Follow the prompt. At the end place a checkmark in Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then choose Finish.
  • When MBAM opens it will says Your database is out of date. Choose Fix Now.
  • Click on the Scan tab at the top of the window, choose Threat Scan, then Scan Now.
  • If you receive a message that updates are available, choose Update Now button (the scan will start after updates are completed).
  • Please be patient as the scan will take some time.
  • If MBAM detected threats, choose Quarantine for all items, then click Apply Actions.
  • While still on the Scan tab, choose View detailed log. In the window that opens, click the Export button, choose Text file (*.txt) and save the log to your Desktop.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Regards,
Alex

Just a question: why do I have to disinstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and then reinstall it again?

Your version of Malwarebytes is outdated - the current version is 2.1.6.1022 :)

What happened to Junkware Removal Tool? I can ask the developer to take a look.

Alex

Hi there,

Please take a moment to read about WildTangent games.

WildTangent Program Warning

Wild Tangent is a video game software company specializing in online games. It has even made a partnership with AOL to include itself as part of the AOL Instant Messenger for their AIM games section. The WildTangent Web Driver is their technology that allows you to play 3D games over the Internet. Although its not technically considered spyware it does have built in components to update itself and gather information about the computer system including:

  • Operating System Version
  • CPU Type and Speed
  • Memory Amount
  • Video Card type and Driver Version
  • Sound Card type and Driver Version
  • DirectX Version
  • Location that the Web Driver was installed from
For that reason I would suggest you uninstalled it via add/remove.

Reboot after the uninstallation.<- Important.

What happened to your MiniToolbox log?

Please run these.

Security Check by screen317
  • Download Security Check by screen317 from here or here.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt. Please copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Emsisoft Emergency Kit

Please download Emsisoft Emergency Kit and save it to your desktop. Double click on the EmsisoftEmergencyKit file you downloaded to extract its contents and create a shortcut on the desktop. Leave all settings as they are and click the Extract button at the bottom. A folder named EEK will be created in the root of the drive (usually c:\).
  • After extraction please double-click on the new Start Emsisoft Emergency Kit icon on your desktop.
  • The first time you launch it, Emsisoft Emergency Kit will recommend that you allow it to download updates. Please click Yes so that it downloads the latest database updates.
  • When the update process is complete, a new button will appear in the lower-left corner that says Back. Click on this button to return to the Overview screen.
  • Click on Scan to be taken to the scan options. If you are asked if you want the scanner to scan for Potentially Unwanted Programs, then click Yes.
  • Click on the Full Scan button to start the scan.
  • When the scan is completed click the Quarantine selected objects button. Note, this option is only available if malicious objects were detected during the scan.
  • When the threats have been quarantined, click the View report button in the lower-right corner, and the scan log will be opened in Notepad.
  • Please save the log in Notepad on your desktop, and attach it to your next reply.
  • When you close Emsisoft Emergency Kit, it will give you an option to sign up for a newsletter. This is optional, and is not necessary for the malware removal process.
Regards,
Alex
