When I try to run Combo Fix in windows10 it fails.
I get an error saying un-supported O/S.
Combofix only works in 7,8,8.1
No longer has support for win2000
Any one out there with a clue as to why Combofix is seeing windows 10 as W@K??

Is there a way to get it working in Win 10

The short and simple answer is: No. ComboFix does not support Win10 at the moment and we don't know when it will be added. The message you're seeing is a generic one that appears whenever the Windows version is unsupported.

What is it exactly you were wanting to fix?

FYI: System requirements for ComboFix are provided in the Authorized How to guide, on the authorized download page, and in the ComboFix usage, Questions, Help? - Look here topic.

At this time ComboFix can only run on the following Windows versions:
    Windows XP (32-bit only)
    Windows Vista (32-bit/64-bit)
    Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit)
    Windows 8 (32-bit/64-bit)

If you need individual assistance with a malware infection, other advanced tools are available but they cannot be used in this forum. You would need to follow the instructions in the Preparation Guide For Requesting Help starting at Step 6.

  • If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
  • In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running FRST which will create two logs.

When you have done that post your logs in the in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here for assistance by the Malware Response Team Experts.

Start a new topic, give it a relevant title along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. If you cannot produce any of the required logs...start the new topic anyway. A member of the Malware Removal Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer.

After doing this, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can close this one.

I doubt that is going to happen any time soon since there are other alternatives which already work.

I was asking:  why are you wanting to run ComboFix?  If you tell the regular BC techs what is it you wanting to do with ComboFix, they can better suggest the proper forum, the proper tool[s], to help you fix whatever the problem is or problems are.  ComboFix is not a maintenance tool; it is like a fire department that comes to one's house to put out a fire; yes, it puts out the fire, however, the house is not quite the same [water damage causes loss of some things, for example].

This is the proper forum to ask any questions about ComboFix. The Virus, MRL forum is only for those requiring assistance and guidance for running the tool (if it is needed) after following the Prep Guide.
