Can someone please link me to a list of HDD event and error codes? (not SMART codes)

My Google doesn't seem to be working properly for this search.

Please help.

Not sure what you are looking for...I'm not sure there exists a summary of all the Event Viewer error codes...and I doubt if they are arranged by possible component impacted.

I tend to use Google and www.eventid.net as a way of tracking/narrowing down the possibilities for a given error.

Like Hamluis said, there is no unified standard of coding for those messages. If you are having a problem, post it and we are happy to help if we can.

Not going to start mixing up viewer codes and system error codes now...

Thanks Louis.

And what's most frustrating about it is I can find several places that will list all event id 1, 2, 7, etc. across the system. But they won't list all disk or iastor events across the system... I know there isn't that many of them but they don't make their databases searchable in that way. Darn it! :ranting:

I find that eventid.net has the best info (IMO) on interpreting the possibilities of EV errors...more reliable, IMO, than the cryptic interpretations provided by Microsoft because...the synopses include comments from other users with said errors.

Thanks for that Louis,

I am still looking for a list though if anyone can help me. I've spent some time building my own list, but it's difficult to know what/ if I've missed any.
