I just got a notice of my files being encrypted and to follow the procedure to pay bitcoin for the private key to un encrypt. I have so many hours to get this payment done. I have read several other forum posts but I am trying to figure out which one of the encryption viruses I have. Then make a start to get this cleaned up if possible. Can you help me through this?

Just an update, looking through the other topics and forums I now see that I probably have the Alpha Crypt virus since I have the .ezz extensions on my encrypted files.

Yes, you are dealing with Alpha Crypt (TeslaCrypt renamed). Any files that are encrypted with Alpha Crypt will have the .ezz extension added to the end of the filename.

A repository of all current knowledge regarding TeslaCrypt and Alpha Crypt is provided by Grinler (aka Lawrence Abrams), in this topic: TeslaCrypt and Alpha Crypt Ransomware Information Guide and FAQ

There is an ongoing discussion in this topic: Alpha Crypt (TeslaCrypt renamed) Ransomware Support and Discussion Topic.

If you need individual assistance with malware removal, please follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide. When you have done that, start a new topic and post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.

Rather than have everyone start individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any questions, comments or requests for assistance in that topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion...this topic is closed.
