I'm getting the error code 670 everytime I've tried to update silverlight, and for the longest time I've simply let it go. However, now I think I need to get this taken care of. I've done some searching online and one of the suggestions I found was to delete silverlight and install the latest version. When I tried to do this I was not able to unistall it and was wondering if anybody could help me please.

Hello,

Do you use Silverlight? If you don't, I suggest that you remove it altogether since Silverlight is commonly used as an attack venue by malware.

Please follow the instructions below to remove Silverlight.

- Download Revo Uninstaller Portable from here.

- Extract the archive to a folder on your Desktop.

- Open the folder, right click on Revouninstaller.exe and choose Run as Administrator. Accept UAC warning if there is any.

- When Revo Uninstaller launches, search for "Silverlight". Let Revo Uninstaller remove everything it found.

If you need to reinstall Silverlight, you can do that with Windows Update.

Let me know how it went.

Regards,
Alex

Alex

Thanks for the help, but I must have done something wrong because when I downloaded the free version it could not find silverlight. Do I need to buy this program in order to remove silverlight?

Thanks again

No, you don't need to.

Please refer to instructions in this Microsoft article to remove a corrupted installation of Silverlight.

Alex
