Hi, my brother was recently helped on this site and I'm hoping I can get helped with the issue that I'm having with my RAM.

sometime when I first start up my PC I check task manager and the ram useage is already at 50%, so i'll restart my PC and this time it's at a more reasonable 15% or there-abouts.

I start to use FireFox, myabe watch a movie or play a game and soon enough the Ram starts getting eaten up a lot more that it should to the point where I'll get a warning message telling me that I'm running out of memeory and need to close a progam. I end up just restarting my computer. This is a fairly recent problem though I can't remember really when it started.

when my brother got help here he was told to use these programs

FRST64
Adwcleaner
malwarebites
Este

he gave a copy of those programs to me and I ran them, they helped clean up my PC along with CCleaner that I also used but I'm still haveing problems with the ram. The Witcher 3 comes out soon and I'm really hoping to be able to play it with no problems.

my system specs

Intel Core i-5-4690 3.5GHz
8 gigs of ram (thinking on doubling that)
4 TB hard drive
EVA Geforce GTX 650

any help on the matter and i will be very greatful.

the main Log file from FRST64 is to large to attach, is there somewhere I can upload it to you guys would prefer. I'll have to make a account just for that i guess. notpad file is more than 500KB

I do still need help with this issue and now i notice that the CPU usage is higher than I'd expect it to be from just running a game like Stat of decay(which is not a high graphic detail game, and I'm getting choppy Frame rate).

As stated in OP I am unable to attach a log file, the notepad doc it gives me it more that 500KB and it's too large to upload. I can Upload it to a place liKE Mega.com if you want, just let me know.

I do still have the Windows DVD

thanks

Hi Pensive_Wolf,

Welcome to the Bleeping Computer Technical Support Forums! I am Black_Bird and I'll be helping you cleaning up your computer.

First, I'd like to get some more insight in the problems you're having with your PC. Can you please post the logfiles from all tools you've already used, including FRST (both FRST.txt and Addition.txt), AdwCleaner, Malwarebytes' and Eset? If logs are too big to upload, you can either split them up or copy/paste them into your replies.

Can you also please tell me which processes use the RAM most? You can see this within Task Manager.

I hope to hear back from you soon. Good luck! :)

Kind regards,
Black_Bird

Hi,

Let's do some cleaning here. :)

General P2P/Piracy Warning:

If you're using Peer 2 Peer software such as uTorrent, BitTorrent or similar you must either fully uninstall them or completely disable them from running while being assisted here.
Failure to remove or disable such software will result in your topic being closed and no further assistance being provided.
If you have illegal/cracked software, cracks, keygens etc. on the system, please remove or uninstall them now.

1. We need to uninstall some programs from your computer.

  • Please go to Start > Control Panel.
  • In the window that opens ("Control Panel"), click Uninstall a program. A list containing all installed programs will open.
  • Also I advise you to delete the following programs as they are marked as "Potentially Unwanted Programs" (PUPs). These programs often contain bundled spyware/adware or they're known for logging your activities.
    • PCTuner
  • When done, please close all windows and reboot your PC.

2. Please download to your Desktop.

  • Please make sure to put fixlist.txt in the same location as where FRST.exe/FRST64.exe is located!

3. Download RKill and save it to your Desktop.
  • Right-click RKill.exe and select Run as Administrator....
  • If a Windows Security prompt shows up, please allow the program to start.
  • The program will start immediately with it's tasks. When the program has finished, a logfile will appear.
Please copy the contents of this logfile in your next reply.

4. Start Farbar Recovery Scan Tool by right-clicking it and selecting Run as Administrator.
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called fixlog.txt. Please include this logfile in your next reply.

5. Please remove fixlist.txt from your PC.

6. Please reboot your PC.

7. Start Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  • If asked, click Yes at the Disclaimer window.
  • Click Scan once the program has opened.
  • It will create a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.

8. Please give me an update on your PC problems. Also please include the results from the following tools in your next reply:
  • RKill
  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool - using fixlist.txt
  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool - regular scan

Kind regards,
Black_Bird

Hi,

If you follow-up my directions exactly, you'll see that you have to save fixlist.txt (which I included in my previous post) in the same location as FRST.exe. Once saved, run FRST.exe and fixlog.txt will be created.

Please re-do everything in steps 2 - 8. Nothing has been deleted yet as FRST didn't use the fixlog.txt (probably by saving it in a different location).

Kind regards,
Black_Bird
