Hi

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-us8.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com

This is Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. "Sypware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

Close all other windows and browsers, and press the Fix Checked button.

REBOOT your machine, run HijackThis! again and post a new log please.

There is nothing else suspect in your log.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?
