At present my PC is configured with Thunderbird Mail and Firefox. As I am tired of using Firefox can my PC (Win8.1) be configured to work with Thunderbird Mail and Microsoft IE11?

Your help on this would be appreciated.

Regards,

If you mean that using a browser to access your email on the server very similar to web-based email operations - yes, no problem. I've used T-bird for years, and can use my FF or Chrome or IE to access my email account.

RolandJS,

I appreciate your response.

Maybe I should make the situation a liitle clearer.

At this time I am using Thunderbird to pull off all Email from Comcast. When I open the Email let's say to a facebook message, the menu bar at the top of the page is Firefox. My question is, can I open a facebook page in Email that will have Internet Explorer as the browser (menu bar at the top) instead of Firefox ? How would I make this change?

The other issue I have is when I open to the facebook page there is a black bar at the top of the page. Have you any idea what this is and how to get rid of it?

Your help on this matter is appreciated.

Regards,

What is your default browser currently?

I have Thunderbird as one of my mail clients. Whenever I click links in mail, they open in my default browser. Which currently happens to be Opera. If you configure IE 11 as your default browser. Thunderbird should work with IE as you want.
