I got a like new Windows 7 64bit computer and I wiped and reinstalled Windows 7 64-bit, the computer is a laptop HP 255 G2 Notebook PC and I seem to cannot get Sony ACID to install on this, it always and instantly says "this program might not have installed correctly" right after I allow the UAC. it doesn't matter that the digital signature is on the software (Sony Creative Software Inc), it always gives that message. it doesn't even attempt to install. if I have task manager open, the process just opens with approx. 2mb mem usage, then closes instantly. no error message but the one. Sony and everyone else says it is compatible with 64-bit under /program files x86/ even windows 8 x64. I even downloaded the latest version of Sony ACID pro straight from Sony, still nothing. they all worked flawlessly on the 32bit version of windows 7 but not on this.

the event viewer has this to say about the crash:

Faulting application name: acidpro70c.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x49dbb7d6
Faulting module name: acidpro70c.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x49dbb7d6
Exception code: 0xc0000094

please help because I need this for my creative arts work

I couldn't find any information regarding the compatibility of the 7 version and a 64-bit operating system.

Do you have .Net Framework and Quick Time 7.1.6 installed?

I'd contact the developer, see http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/sony-acid-will-not-install-on-windows-7-64-bit-985497.html .

I'm out of ideas.

You may want to try Louis's suggestion.
