Just got an older PC but new to me with an OEM Win7 Pro set up (it came with recovery disks)... I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what programs I can get rid of (delete) with out upsetting the system? I know with an OEM 7 install there has to be crap on here that isn't not only not necessary but slowing it down.

A list or even one or two or whatever would be a great help. I've been using Avast for 10 years now so I did get rid of the McAfee and Norton programs on here already. Of course I have not idea if that would hurt or slow anything...

Look forward to your responses!

Uninstall the following ......you can do so by using add/remove (programs and features) in control panel....

or,....you can use Revo....will definitely leave things cleaner...  Download from HERE

double click on the downloaded file....select run....follow the prompts to install.

Double click on the installation.....allow the program to "populate"....it will list all programs present on the PC.

Double click on the program to uninstall....tjhis will start the process......it uses the programs built in uninstaller first....then scans for left over objects etc....be patient......then simply select ALL....and delete......same on the next 'page'....then Finish.

This is a good program to keep.

When you have finished with these....

Download TFC from HERE

The download link will take ytou to 'geeks to go' site....click on the download button there....

Then Click on the exe, and then click on run.....this will open a screen on your desktop.....

Click on Strart......your desktop will go BLANK...(dont panic)......this will take a while...be patient....

It will eventually show you the amopunt of temp files removed....If it asks you to reboot...DO IT.

In fact...reboot anyway.

I am and did look at post #4... There is a bunch of info of where to down load those programs but no where there does it state which programs I can delete or uninstall. I would certainly get rid of them using the add/remove programs and features area of the control panel. If I knew which ones to remove. I was hoping you would see this again and tell me which ones...

If you did list them and for some reason I can see them would you list them again please. Like I said, all I see in the top line is

"Uninstall the following ......you can do so by using add/remove (programs and features) in control panel"

Nothing followed...
