My Mom's running XP Home Edition and a yellow update shield appeared in her Sys Tray a few days ago.  I have her Update setting to "Notify but don't Install".

I don't know how to view XP updates before they install since clicking on the yellow shield doesn't provide information about the update.

Is there a download folder location where I can view the update before installing?

I read elsewhere where that possible location may be

C:\Windows\Software Distribution\Download

Or this location    C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate

The last update that I saw on Mom's PC was on 03/11/15 which was KB890830 (Malicious Removal Tool).  I'm guessing this one is related since MS extended its anti-malware products updates running on XP until July 2015 from what I read at InfoWorld.com  .

Because XP is no longer supported, the only updates offered is for the Malicious Removal Tool on a monthly basis.
