IBM,Sony and Toshiba today unveiled key details of a new computer chip called Cell, being jointly developed by the three companies.LONDON, November 29 (newratings.com) The new chip is powered by multiple processor cores capable of handling various broadband applications. The three companies have been working since 2001 on the new chip, likely to be ten times more powerful than conventional chips, would enable computers and consumer electronic products to easily process large amounts of video and digital content over broadband networks. Second story: Sony Discloses Details on Computer Chip TOKYO (AP) - Sony Corp. plans to begin selling home servers for broadband and high-definition TV systems powered by a revolutionary new computer chip in 2006, the Japanese electronics and entertainment giant said Monday. Sony also said a next-generation video-game console powered by the chip, known as Cell, was also in the works, although it didn't give a date for its release.
The only easy day was yesterday.
