I have an error that I get every time I reboot my system.

"This program requires the file advrcntr5.dll, which was not found on this system."

I don't remember ever having Nero installed on this system.

I don't see anything Nero in Programs/features Uninstall list.

I have run the Nero General CleanTool utility.

I have run CCleaner (updated version)

I done a search in the registry for:

Nero

advrcntr5.dll

With nothing found.

I have re-booted my system.

What can I do to get rid of this error window?

Win7 sp1 Pro 32bit

Antivirus: Bitdefender

Thank you,

Hi docfxit :)

We'll try to find what cause this with Autoruns, so I'll need a log.

sUc2qjf.pngAutoruns - Start-up Entries
Follow the instructions below to give me an Autoruns log containing your start-up entries:
  • Download Autoruns.zip from the Sysinternals Suite webpage;
  • Extract the content of the Autoruns.zip folder where you want, then go in the folder, right-click on Autoruns.exe and select Run as Administrator;
  • Accept the EULA on opening, then wait for all the entries to load;
  • Click on File then Save and save the file to a location easily accessible as a .arn (Autoruns) file;
  • Go on ge.tt and upload the Autoruns file you saved;
  • Once done, post the download URL of your uploaded file in your next reply;

I see that you are working on the ISeries AS/400? Poor you, I feel your pain :P Alright, there's only one entry associated with Nero AG as the publisher, and it's the HTCMonitorService, from HTC Sync Manager.

Either disable that entry and reboot, or uninstall the program and reboot. Also, you have some suspicious start-up entries.
