This is frustrating.  My Thinkcentre M51 with Windows XP Professional SP3 has been doing something strange; there is a 20 second lag between the welcome screen and the desktop.  What can be causing this?  What created the problem?  I have not modified any services or settings.  I am interested and curious as to what other professionals on here suggest.

I am A+ certified; I am also certified by Dell and Lenovo.

I appreciate your assistance
