This morning when I opened Google chrome from the desktop, it opened a full-screen blank grey screen, with an icon to Chrome in the lower left hand corner. When I clicked that icon, the browser came up and the grey box is still there.  It completely covers my desktop so I can't see my desktop icons or anything.

I would dearly love to get rid of it. Does anyone know how I can do that?  Would uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it fix the problem? is there an easier way?  ANY help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Try pressing F11 and see if the browser is in full screen mode.
