Good day, I can't install 4 security updates on Windows 7 installation. Have run sfc /scannow scanning and there are corrput files on my system. I am attaching I screenshot of the updates that do not want to install, and the sfcdetails.zip file.

Any help will be appreciated.

I could not upload the cbs.log file. Zipped it but it still seems to be too big. Where else can I upload it? Can I upload is to Dropbox and sen the link?

Thanks

Hello and welcome

Download and Run SFCFix

Please download and run SFCFix from >Here<

It will take about 15 minutes to process. Once the scan has completed a notepad file will launch with the results. Please copy and paste the entire contents of the results and post them back into this thread.

Hi Guys And Girls

I had a problem with windows update today

I had 9 updates

I let windows update install them

I got a message windows update failed

so what I did was go back to the windows update screen

went to the top of the list ie when u see the number of the update

ie Kbla bla bla

start form the smallest number

which is usually the top one

do all the updates 1 at a time

 and it worked for me

they need to be installed or u cant get the others

I tried all possible variations already, but none of the 4 worked.

Here is the result of the top one on the list, which is the smallest.

:

1 result for "WindowsUpdate_800F0900" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
1.  1 Windows Update error 8024200d
scf has already shown that there is corruption in files.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  • Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  • Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  • On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  • Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  • SFCFix will now process the script.
  • Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
SFC /SCANNOW
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button. Inside the search box type in CMD
  • Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
  • Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  • Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with the rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  • Click on the Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg button => Inside the search box copy and paste the following command:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • Press Enter
  • Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt, please rename this file to CBS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.txt For example "CBS_Go The Power_1803.txt"
  • Please upload CBS_{Username}_{Date}.txt to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Good work, SFC has only has one more issue left. This time it is with a corrupt manifest file:
\winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-u..oyment-languagepack_31bf3856ad364e35_7.1.7601.16492_el-gr_159fdfa9f59081eb.manifest"

Before repairing this one I want to check for any other corrupt/missing manifest files, that way we can repair them in one hit.

Please follow the instructions Here to run the System Update Readiness Tool. When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Hi again,

Could you download the 2 files from DropBox?

Please let me know whether there was a problem?

I would say don't waste time with 3rd party utilities - look up download links for those updates according to the KB numbers at the end of them.

Manually download them, and voila, problem solved.

Hello,

Sorry I did get the files. I didnt have much free time yesterday afternoon.

The corrupt package files SURT detected belong to an update that was pulled by MS due to a lot of problems.

Can you please uninstall KB2949927?

Once done please run SURT again and upload a new CheckSur.log.

Thanks
Alex
