Hi all,

I am trying to set up an IP Webcam to my Wi-Fi network. No luck yet. In the software that comes with the Modem. There is an option called Device Manager > IP Search >. This search does find an IP address. I assume it is the Webcam. Because when I run the search with no Ethernet cable in Camera no IP is found.

One thing I am not sure about is the LAN cable that is plugged into LAN 1 on the Modem. The light on the LAN1 port flashes Orange. It is not solid green like to LAN4/Wan . I have attached a short Video that shows this.

I have also attached other images of Modem Type and Advanced modem settings etc. If anyone can help would be most appreciated. The pics and Video are provided as links to a server I use. As I have pc issues and can’t upload direct here.

The Webcam is as follows;

Office One (Outdoor Wireless IP Camera)

Model SC10IP

Thanks for any advice on this !!

Other than the color of the light what issues are you having?  The light color is most likely due to a different connection speed.  My guess is the rest of your equipment is 1GB and the camera is 100mb.

If you plug in the camera and then go to that IP address in your web browser what do you see?

Hi Kilroy,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. When I open up the IP Camera Software and Click Search IP. The Cameras IP is found. This software has a WEB LAUNCHER, basically just loads the IP address of the cam on the web. Here is a screen shot of what happens when the page loads.

I know little about this, however I feel it has something to do with that IP not being listed in the IP distribution list settings in the modem. Not sure how to get the modem settings correct. Hope this helps??

Cimi :)

Is your routers lan subnet 192.168.2.x?  If not then the camera is in the wrong subnet which is why you can't reach it.  You either need to configure the camera to the correct static ip in your lan subnet or set it to dhcp so it gets the correct ip subnet from the router.

255.255... is the subnet mask.  when you do a ipconfig what is the listed gateway ip address?

It would be your router [what you are calling a modem] that would be handing out ip addresses

Update :

Okay so I think it comes down to the following.

The DHCP Server ( IP Address distribution ) is Disabled.

Attached is the current settings in my modem. If I can work out what the correct info to type into this may help.

The other issue that confuses me is. The LAN1 port in back of Modem Light Flashes Orange when my Laptop runs the Ethernet Cable into Modem. + As does the IP CAM when run into LAN1 flashes orange.

I decided to try and run ethernet cable from a Apple Mac laptop into LAN1 and the light went green???

It is my understanding that the light will flash if the modem is trying to establish a connection + the light will be green if there is a stable connection.

Please see attached files...

Thanks !!
