Hi everyone :)

I'm surprised that this thread wasn't created yet (unless I missed it), so I decided to create one. The popular thread where everyone share their download and upload speeds, and where other start dreaming about your speeds, or you start dreaming about theirs

I'll open the bal, since I changed ISP one month ago. I've been on a 3mpbs download and 0.75mpbs upload connection for pretty much my whole life (well, it was even slower before with dial-up), and now my ISP gives me 60mpbs download and 12mpbs upload. Right now, I'm only getting half these speeds, since it's the "peak" hour, but it's way more than enough for me to do all my stuff.

You can take the test at SpeedTest.net and click on the Share button after to share your results via a link or an image (like I did).

Changing ISP was pretty much the best move I did in a long time. What about you guys, what are your speeds? :)

PS: On a side note, if you own a VPS, you can share its speeds too, since I've seen ridiculous speeds for VPS on other forums, amazing.

That's a good speed for the wireless. Is it 2.4 or 5GHz?

It's on 2.4 GHz because my adapter doesn't support 5 GHz, my router/modem does...

BTW I'm on a 30/4 Mbs plan so I'm happy with the speeds I get !

My ISP just upgraded my connection to 50/4 Mbs and that for the same price !

Very happy with the (wireless) result.

Nice upgrade :) I'll do a comparison test tonight at home, on my phone. 2.4GHz vs 5GHz, since there is a difference in speeds.

We've had Verizon Fios for very many years, usually 50+ Mbps download and upload a bit lower. It simply got too expensive for our needs today so we recently changed to basic cable with a different ISP.
Just now did a speed test on the iPad, 2.37 Mbps down and 1.37 up. Takes a little getting used to having been spoiled so long, but the savings are enjoyably noticeable.  :-)

This is the kind of speeds I had for all my early computer life, and it was a real struggle, even more when you're someone who spends most of his time on a computer and a IT student :P

r.a.d. : I hear you, I also have the cheapest plan... with a 100GB/month cap but fortunately the speed I get is decent...
