I don't know what has changed, but I can no longer save my hosts file. I can open and edit it, but not save it without an extension. I've gone through every spyware/adware program, ZoneAlarm, AVG, Windows firewall, and anything else I could think of to see if anything is blocking my ability to save it. The "Read Only" and "Hidden" file attributes for HOSTS are unchecked. I have manually locked and unlocked the HOSTS file with various programs - all to no avail. I even tried what every IT tech says and rebooted the machine.

I typically use HostsMan to edit the hosts file, and haven't been having any problems with it. Now, however, ?????

Any suggestions? What have I overlooked or possibly done to cause this?

Thanks in advance.

Try using quote marks so that you can save it without the extension. "hosts"

Doesn't make any difference. I still get "File Access Denied" message. Hosts file IS unlocked.

Thanks anyway,
