I recently purchased a new battery as I was getting messages to replace my current one, however, after a few minutes of it working fine, it suddenly stopped charging at 65%, and when I disconnect my laptop from the mains supply, the whole system shuts down.

Any idea what is causing this?

My new battery is exactly identical in voltage, capacity and type (Acer Aspire AS10D81) and the person I bought it off seems reliable enough (99% positive reviews, seems to specialise in hardware). Visually, it is exactly the same aswell. My old battery works, okay, it's not having the same problems, so I don't think it's an issue with the laptop or charger.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5560G with windows 7.
