Hi

I am running W2K and my PC is fitted with an internal Zip Drive.

One particulat Zip disk which I have had no problem with before will not now open and I get a message which tells me that only the administrator can access the disk.

What has happened?

Can you help please?

Thank

MikeW

Problems with 'administrative rights only' errors usually mean that something has changed with the privledges on the logged-in user. Even if you do not remember making any changes yourself, that sounds like the case for you.

Can you access the drive in Safe Mode? In case you are not sure how to access Safe Mode-the tutorial can be found here -> BC Safe Mode tutorial

Hi

Right - I've tried booting in safe mode and tested the rogue disk again.

Still Can't access.

It's just this one disk I can't access, all my other ZIP Disks are OK so the drive is OK.

I don't have any special administrator set up on my PC. So, how do I log on as administrator?

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards

Mike

Does the disk have a lock on it? It could be as simple as a little slider on the disk. It could have been moved without you knowing.
