Go to Start> Run> msinfo32. See if you have any Conflicts under the Hardware Resources.
You can use Everest v. 1.51 to give you more information about your computer.

You need to install the drivers for your multimedia controller, and perhaps other drivers as well. XP doesn't always have the drivers for everything. Check your Device Manager by pressing the Windows key and the Pause key at the same time, then choose the Hardware tab and the Device Manager button. Look for any yellow question marks or exclamation points - these indicate missing or problem device drivers. This is a normal procedure that is done after installing an operating system: check the device manager and install drivers.

Companies that send out restore disks usually have a driver disk to install.

Computers using an OEM or full version of Windows XP will have additional software. When you buy a video card, it comes with a driver and software CD.

If you can't find or don't have the CD, go to the Nvidia site as well as sites for your other missing drivers and find the drivers for your specific equipment. You can try this in the Device Manager: choose to reinstall the driver and when Windows asks if it can search the internet, allow it to, this one time.
