I have been free from about:blank for months now, and perform Spybot, Ad-Aware SE, Bazooka, Norton, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster scans on a regular basis. I have also scanned with an online trojan scanner (http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/trojanscan.asp)

However, since installing Norton Internet Security 2005, I have been able to link to an about:blank page via NIS 2005. Here's how:

Open NIS 2005
Click Norton Antivirus, Reports, View Activity Log, Threat Alerts.

Previous threats which Norton blocked are in this section and they are hotlinked so that one can read about them. However, whenever I click on these links, a blank page opens in Internet Explorer with "about:blank" in the address bar.

I have waited patiently in another forum for the last 3 weeks now, but no one seems to have come across this particular incarnation (although there have been more than 300 views of that post).

Has anyone here come across this about:blank page being linked to via Norton 2005?
Many thanks for your comments.

Personally, I do not think there you are infected with anything. I think its a problem with NIS. A lot of people have been reporting problems with this software lately.

As for the log, I would fix these even though they are not harmful, a future exploit may spoof the domain and allow them to install software:
