Update: It seems like the test is now for HTML6. So when you go on the website, it redirects you to HTML6Test.com.

Found that little website when browsing /g/ today since there was a thread on it and I found it pretty interesting. The results are clearly presented and grouped together and the whole report is quite easy to understand. You can also compare your web browsers to other ones and see how to obtain the points you are missing.

Post your results below in a screenshot if you can (instructions on how to take a screenshot under Windows are posted at the end of this thread).

Here's mine, running the latest version of Google Chrome 64-bits, on Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bits.

Here's the website:

mq1pzD6.pngHow to take a screenshot using the Snipping Tool
Follow the instructions below to take a screenshot using Windows' Snipping Tool:
  • Press on the Win Key + R to open the Run box;
  • Enter SnippingTool and press on Enter;
  • The Snipping Tool will open, asking you to choose the area to take in the screenshot;
  • Left click on the area where you want to start the screenshot, keep it, and drag the cursor across the screen;
  • Once done, release the left button to take the screenshot;
  • In the editing window, click on the File menu then Save As;
  • Save the screenshot in a folder that you can access easily;
  • Once done, attach that screenshot to your next reply;

Chrome on Debian Linux 64bit also gets 523, whereas my preferred Iceweasel (Firefox for Debian) only scores 446.

Need someone who have a MPEG-4 ASP codec installed to see if they get the points for it.

Not bad. I'll test a bunch of browser tomorrow and see how they perform as well. If someone wants to join along, feel free to! :P From what I've seen, Spartan doesn't score that much. We'll see it tomorrow.

Currently updating my Windows 10 VM to the latest version so I can test Spartan. Apparently, it scores just a tad higher than Internet Explorer :lol:

I guess that's the standard Google Chrome score (assuming you have the latest version). And looks like I was spot on, Project Spartan only did a tad better than Internet Explorer!

Well, considering the browser is still in Alpha and not even in Beta yet, we can always hope for the best. They still have a few months before the official release of Windows 10 and Project Spartan as well. So they start with that score, and it gives them months to add what's missing and the support for it :P

Interesting crap lack of function from latest flashplayer....If i open flash on tinypics page in order to then secure a url to post to this page.....my whole page simply freezes...I get the 'flash has stopped working etc etc do you wish to continue etc etc'.....

If i turn flash off...completely....the page works beautifully !!

Roll on html6 !
