Hello so i formatted a MicroSD card on my laptop and i can't remember what allocation size i chose (it may have been 32kb)

So i formatted it again but using the tablet this time instead. (I thought the tablet format setting will be best for the card's performance)

My question is, what would be the default allocation size for formatting and SD card on a Galaxy Tab 2? I presume it would only have 1 setting as there was no option when i formatted the card.

You need to post the specific card.  There isn't enough information here to make any real sense.

Thnaks, i formatted the microSD card on the tablet itself (rather than a PC) in the end, i assumed that whatever allocation size the it chooses by default will be best for use on the tablet itself anyway....

Right?

Here is a page on default cluster size vs file system.

You can find your cluster size by using chkdsk on the SDcard and when finished will give the amount in bytes of each allocation unit.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/245436

If you formatted using your SD card on the tablet then it should have used the default cluster size.

Thanks for that info.

I no longer have the card so i can't check, but as you say... it most likely used the default allocation size when i formatted the card on the tablet, and that's fine as that's what the card will be used with anyway.
