Yeah, so my HDD bit the dust. Won't spin up at all. I've heard of a trick for getting it to fire up and maybe save some of my files that involves putting in the refrigerator over night. Anyone ever hear of this? Any other ideas so I can rescue some data?

Hi,

Are you sure that the HDD is gone and it isn't a problem only with the Operating System boot?

If you access the BIOS by pressing the F9 key (if I'm not mistaken) you should find some option to test the HDD.

No the HDD is trashed. It wont even spin up. it rattles a few times then nothing. I put it in an enclosure and nothing. I just wish I could get my files off of it. My fault for not backing it up.
