Hi, I've been having an issue getting the 64 bit version of java to install on my computer. I have windows 7 and a 64 bit machine but every time I try to install I get an error code 1603 which says it's already on my machine. I've unistalled anything java related and am only able to get the 32 bit verison to download and install. I read that a Microsoft update KB2918614 was causing the problem and I've uninstalled that but still no luck. ANyone have any ideas as to why this is or how to fix it?

Hi chiguy74 :)

Let's see what you have installed on your system right now.

  • Download MiniToolBox and move the executable file to your Desktop;
  • Execute MiniToolBox and check the following options:
    • List Installed Programs;
    • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;
  • Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete;
  • Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;
