Not sure I understand the message. Do you have a question or a problem?

Manfacturer and model number of the printer would be helpful.

I do know that the CD I use for my Canon printer/scanner/copier will install MP Navigator which will allow me scan from my computer by using the Navigator dashboard.

If I want to copy I have to do it by pushing a button on the printer.

My HP has a disk and the software that it installs lets me control everything from a window on the monitor. Even shows me ink levels

Most likely everything will be installed from the cd. The only way to know is to install.

If no icons are added to your screen during the install, look under Start menu/All Programs and find your printer as the tools could be listed there.
