Hello!

CCleaner removed what it said was a malicious program but now upon start up and randomly throughout using my computer this window keeps popping up:

Attached File  Error message received on start up.jpg   54.79KB   1 downloads

I also, previous to using CCleaner to remove the program trying to run that file, had taken my computer to a repair person. He said he removed some nasty Trojan infections. But while trying to reinstall Microsoft Word on my own I have received the following message:

Attached File  Word Error Message.jpg   38.84KB   1 downloads

I guarantee you I have enough diskspace. Please see the proof below:

Attached File  diskspace with processor info.jpg   96.82KB   0 downloads

Attached File  how much free space on harddrive.jpg   45.14KB   0 downloads

I don't know what is going on and I am at a loss as to how to fix it. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Please see posted below the requested FRST.txt log and the attached Addition.txt.

Thanks again!

Nikki

P.S. I'm not sure if this will help but here is a picture of the Task Mananger and I have several tabs open in my browser, and 3 applications open:

Hello nasdaq!

Thank you for your response! I didn't expect help so soon. :)

I have completed both tasks. Running FRST went exactly as expected. AdwCleaner was a bit odd. I installed the program and clicked scan. It reached a point that it said I needed to take action and uncheck things I wanted to keep. But there wasn't anything listed anywhere. And since there was nothing, I had nothing to uncheck. There was button that said "logfile" so I clicked that and have posted the log report below the fixlog.txt report. I closed AdwCleaner and it warned me that I had only scanned and not removed anything and I confirmed that was what I wanted to do.

Great news: That window saying the file could not be found has not reappeared. My first complaint is fixed! Yay! Windows Defender has also just completed an automated quick scan successfully. I don't think it was able to before.

Other news: I still get the window saying there's not enough memory or disk space to run Word when I try to open a document.

So far so good! What next?

Nikki

Other news: I still get the window saying there's not enough memory or disk space to run Word when I try to open a document.

Navigate to this page.

http://www.word-2013-tutorials.com/tag/normal-dot/

Word 2013 may not be your version but the principle is the same.

Delete the normal.dotm or normal.dot as suggested on this article.

Restart the computer and open word.

If that does not solve your problem then re-install the application.

Keep me posted

Hello nasdaq!

I apologize for my slow reponse. My internet was being slow this afternoon.

As I went to follow your directions I realized I was dealing with Microsoft Office 2010, which is what came with my computer. However I did purchase an upgrade to 2013 a year or so ago so I dug around, found the emails I needed, and reinstalled Microsoft Office Pro 2013 and it's opening documents and spreadsheets without problem. While I did find the file mentioned I did not have to delete it. My second concern is fixed and I didn't realize I had the power to fix it myself! I apologize for having used up your time with that. But yay! My second concern is fixed. :)

Everything seems to be in working order to me. If you see no further need for concern, I count this as a closed case.

Thank you so very much for your time and expertise!

Nikki
