dvd/cd drive cann' t be started

disc drive can not be started due to code 19, also  code 41 shows up sometime. Any fixes??

If you go to the following Microsoft website, you will find several possible resolutions you can try: 



The simplest, safest, and easiest to try first would be "Resolution 2: Use the CD/DVD Fixit Troubleshooter".  Since you have Windows XP installed, make sure you click on the fixit "Run Now" button designated for Windows 7/Vista/XP, and not the Windows 8/8.1 button.
