So I'm upgrading my PC from 2GB of ram. I bought a dual 2GB x 2 but when I install them I'm getting a scrambled blue screen before the blue tdr failure atikmpag.sys screen which automatically restarts the computer.

It starts up fine with only 1 2gb stick but I get that issue when I have both new sticks in. Although I am able to get in in safe mode with both sticks. Any ideas?

Thanks

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H...I'm pretty sure it can handle 4GB of ram...

It supports up to 16GB. It sounds like the RAM is defective and unstable. Do you have any other rigs you could test it in?

Sorry if I snap at you. I can't stand stupid for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Yea I tried in my brothers pc this morning and they both work fine. Also tried each of the new sticks individually and they work. It's when I have both in that it gives me problems. Am able to start I. Safe mode though and can see the computers reads all 4GBs
