Ok guys, so my friend donated his old laptop to me to do some malware testing. I have set it up on a brand new version of Windows 7, on a remote network, and I am now ready. I would like to first test ransomware, but when I went to get samples I was bombarded with all the different kinds that are out there. There are some like CryptoLocker that have been shut down, and some that are still out there, but I can't test all of them. I would like a list of the THREE latest ransomware to this day. I am not asking for download links or asking how to test ransomware, I have done it before with CryptoLocker awhile back, but I would like someone to provide me with the three most current ransomware to this day, as I don't want to start a test only to find out that the server is shut down or that the ransomware is no longer being distributed as any effort to solve it would be useless. I would appreciate any assistance to that regard.

Thanks,

-Benjamin

Benjamin,

Not sure why you need to ask for a list of ransomware.  Just browse this forum (General Security) or browse the News forum for recent ransomware discoveries...
